tṛṣayā parayāviṣṭo 'nviṣyajjalamitastataḥ /
sa dūrātpūracakrāhvaṃ haṃsasārasanāditaiḥ //

Seized by great thirst, searching here and there for water, / he came to a lake indicated from afar by the cries of geese and cranes and full of ruddy sheldrakes;
