vyāsaputraḥ śukaḥ prokto vāyorāveśasaṃyutaḥ /
rudrāvatāro vijñeyo jñānārthamabhavadbhuvi //
Śuka, declared to be the son of Vyāsa, endowed with the entrance of Vāyu,
is to be known as an incarnation of Rudra; he appeared on earth for the sake of knowledge.
