pāṇigrāhaṃ rudradevo mahātmā yadā himādreḥ kanyakāyāścakāra /
tasyāṃ paraṃ laṃpaṭaḥ saṃbabhūva ato rudraḥ parasaṃjñāmavāpa //
When the great-souled god Rudra took the hand [in marriage] of the daughter of the Himālaya, / he became exceedingly attached to her; therefore Rudra obtained another name.
