tadā naiva hyātmahatyādidoṣāḥ strīṇāmevaṃ nirṇayoyaṃ hi śāstre /
yadbhartāro na vijānanti viṣṇuṃ tāsāṃ saṃgo naiva kāryaḥ kadāpi //
then the sins of suicide and the like do not attach to women; this is indeed the decision in the scripture; / if their husbands do not know Viṣṇu, association with them must never be formed.
