śrīgaruḍamahāpurāṇam- 2
śrīśaunaka uvāca /
kathaṃ sasarja bhagavāṃstattattattvābhimāninaḥ /
sṛṣṭikramaṃ na jānāmi devānāṃ hyantaraṃ mune //

The venerable Garuḍa Mahāpurāṇa — 2.
Śrī Śaunaka said:
How did the Blessed One create the presiding deities of those various cosmic principles?
I do not know the order of creation, nor the hierarchy of the gods, O sage.
