daityāḥ duḥ khāyate yasmāttasmāduḥ khī hariḥ svayam /
tattadduḥ khasvarūpatvāddaityānāṃ biṃbarūpakaḥ //

Because the daityas suffer, Hari is himself said to suffer [in them];
because of having the nature of their respective sufferings, he is the prototype-form of the daityas.
