kevalaṃ sattvamityuktaṃ na tu śreṣṭhatvataḥ prabho /
sṛṣṭikāle kevalaṃ syātpralaye miśritaṃ bhavet //
it is called pure sattva, not merely on account of its excellence, O lord. / At the time of creation it is pure; at the dissolution it becomes mixed.
