putra uvāca
śṛṇu tāta ! yathā yogo dattātreyeṇa dhīmatā /
alarkāya purā proktaḥ samyak pṛṣṭena vistarāt //
The son spoke:
Listen, dear father! how of yore the wise Dattātreya, when duly questioned, expounded the system of religions devotion at length to Alarka.[4]
