tacchrutvā nāma putrasya kṛtaṃ mātrā mahīpatiḥ /
alarka ityasambaddhaṃ prahasyedamathābravīt //

On hearing that name given the son by the mother, the king, laughing at ‘Alarka’ as inappropriate, said—
