tasya varṣaśataṃ tvekaṃ paramāyurmahātmanaḥ /
brahmyeṇaiva hi mānena tasya saṃkhyāṃ nibodha me //

Brahmā who is adored as Hiraṇyagarbha, the first of the gods, and without beginning, who sits in the middle of the lotus-like earth, was born in the beginning.
