mukhyaḥ sargaścaturthastu mukhyā vai sthāvarāḥ smṛtāḥ /
tiryakstrotastu yaḥ proktastiryagyonyaḥ sa pañcamaḥ //
The fourth is the primary creation (mukhya-sarga); the immovable things are indeed remembered as primary. / That which is called the horizontal stream is the fifth, consisting of animals.
