aṣṭamo 'nugrahaḥ sargaḥ sāttvikastāmasaśca saḥ /
pañcaite vaikṛtāḥ sargāḥ prākṛtāstu trayaḥ smṛtāḥ //
The eighth is the creation of grace, both sāttvika and tāmasa. / These five are secondary creations (vaikṛta), and three are remembered as primary (prākṛta).
