ityetat kathitaṃ brahman ! kuruvarṣaṃ mayottaram /
śṛṇu kiṃpuruṣādīni varṣāṇi gadato mama //

Thus this northern realm of Kuru has been described by me, O brahmin; / now hear about the realms beginning with Kimpuruṣa as I tell of them.

Thus I have described this northern continent of Kuru, O brāhman. Hearken while I tell thee of Kimpuruṣa and the other continents.
