bhavakāle nṛṇāṃ saiva lakṣmīrvṛddhipradā gṛhe /
saivābhāve tathālakṣmīrvināśāyopajāyate //
In times of prosperity she alone is Lakṣmī, bestowing increase in the house of men; / and in times of misfortune she herself comes into being as Alakṣmī, bringing about ruin.
