phālgunyāditṛtīyāyāṃ lavaṇaṃ yastu varjayet
samāpte śayanaṃ dadyād gṛhaṃ copaskarānvitam //

(9) _Saubhâgya-Vrata_ should be kept up by avoiding, on the third day of every month, beginning from Phâlguṇa, the use of salt for a year. At the conclusion of the ordinance, he should give to a Brâhmaṇa couple a properly equipped bedstead, a house with all its necessary appurtenances, after showing due honour to them, and should invoke the pleasure of the goddess, with the words, “Bhavânî prîyatâm.” By doing so, he resides for a hundred kalpas in the realm of Pârvatî.—15-16.
