etatsārasvataṃ nāma rūpavidyāpradāyakam //
The devotee who maintains the vow of silence in the evenings for a year and at the end of it gives a jar of clarified butter, a pair of clothes, sesamum, and a bell to a Brâhmaṇa, goes to the domain of Sarasvatî—the Goddess of letters—and is liberated from the cycle of birth. This is known as (10) Sârasvata ordinance—the giver of beauty and learning.—17-18.
