One who takes only one meal a day on the 9th day of a month and then gives to a virgin, after feasting her, according to his means, a pair of clothes embroidered with gold and raiments of silk, and a lion of gold to a Brâhmaṇa, gets a handsome form and he is never defeated by his foes and lives for a considerable time in the realm of Śiva. This is known as (15) Vîra-Vrata—the giver of all prosperity to women kind.—27-28.
