āṣāḍhādicaturmāsam abhyaṅgaṃ varjayennaraḥ
bhojanopaskaraṃ dadyāt sa yāti bhavanaṃ hareḥ
jane prītikaraṃ nṝṇāṃ prītivratamihocyate //
He, giving up of all unguents and giving away of nice and clean cooking utensils, in the four months, beginning with Âṣâdha leads the devotee to the realm of Viṣṇu. This observance is known as (4) _Prîti-Vrata,_ because it pleases everybody.—6.
