rājāno nihatāḥ sarve ye cānye śūramāninaḥ
kiṃ no rājyena govinda kiṃ bhogairjīvitena vā //
“I have killed Bhîṣma, Droṇa, the mighty Karṇa, the King Duryodhana, our kinsmen and other kings, who considered themselves brave soldiers and heroes. “O Govinda! what is now the good of my life, and how and why should I rule the empire?—5-6.
