tapanasya sutā devī triṣu lokeṣu viśrutā
samāgatā mahābhāgā yamunā tatra nimnagā
tatra saṃnihito nityaṃ sākṣāddevo maheśvaraḥ //

The Goddess Yamunâ—the daughter of the Sun, renowned in all the three worlds—is present in Prayâga, and the place where she meets is the abode of Śiva.—18.
