ye vasanti prayāge tu brūhi teṣāṃ ca kiṃ phalam
etanme sarvamākhyāhi paraṃ kautūhalaṃ hi me //
How should people go to the sacred place of Prayâga? Pray also tell me what benefits do they reap who die, bathe and live there?—2. Mârkaṇḍeya said :—Son ! I shall tell you the chief benefits from a pilgrimage to Prayâga, as I have heard them from the good sages in the past.—3.
