sarvatra sulabhā gaṅgā triṣu sthāneṣu durlabhā
gaṅgādvāre prayāge ca gaṅgāsāgarasaṃgame
tatra snātvā divaṃ yānti ye mṛtāste 'punarbhavāḥ //

The Ganges is easily accessible everywhere, excepting at Gaṅgâdvâra, Prayâga and Gaṅgâ Sâgara. Those who bathe at the above mentioned 3 places, go to heaven and are never re-born.—54.
