Of the same dimensions as Jambudvîpa is the huge Śâka tree in the centre of the Dvîpa itself, frequented by the people. Those regions were frequented by the Devas, the Gandharvas, the Bards (châraṇas), and the Siddhas (anchorites), who freely enjoy the beauty of the place. It contains many janapadas peopled by the four varṇâs.—26-28.
