śālmalasya tu vistārād dviguṇastasya vistaraḥ
tasmindvīpe tu vijñeyau parvatau dvau samāhitau //
Sûta said:—Ṛiṣis! Now hear about the sixth dvîpa, known as the Gômeda. It surrounds the Surodaka Ocean. Its size is double that of the Salmaladvîpa. It has two beautiful mountains.—1-2.
