yadahnā kurute pāpaṃ taṃ dṛṣṭvā niśi muñcati
śiśumāraśarīrasthā yāvatyastārakāstu tāḥ //
N.B.—Śiśumâra is known as the zodiac personified and is no other than the child Viṣṇu. The sins committed in the day are swept away by the sight of this Śiśumâra chakra in the night. The man who sees the stars fixed on the Śiśumâra chakra lives for as many number of years more than his proper life period as the stars he sees; and one should know therefore the form and the location of the different limbs of this Śiśumâra chakra fully.—20-21.
