abhimānena tiṣṭhanti tāni devāḥ punaḥ punaḥ
atītāstu sahātītair bhāvyā bhāvyaiḥ suraiḥ saha //

The gods occupy them repeatedly through identification: / the past [gods] with the past, the future with the future gods;
