dviguṇaḥ sūryavistārād vistāraḥ śaśinaḥ smṛtaḥ
triguṇaṃ maṇḍalaṃ cāsya vaipulyācchaśinaḥ smṛtam //
The extent of the moon is remembered as twice the sun's extent; / and its circumference is remembered as three times that in breadth of the moon.
