gatāgatajñaḥ pretānāṃ prāptiṃ śrāddhasya caiva hi
kṛṣṇapakṣastvahasteṣāṃ śuklaḥ svapnāya śarvarī //

The giving of food with good faith is equivalent to the performance of Śrāddha.
