*sūta uvāca
ata ūrdhvaṃ pravakṣyāmi dvāparasya vidhiṃ punaḥ
tatra tretāyuge kṣīṇe dvāparaṃ pratipadyate //

Sûta said :—I shall now relate to you about Dvâpara age which dawns on the decline of Tretâ In the beginning of Dvîpara, people attain siddhis as they do in the age of Tretâ, but when the age becomes perfectly settled, the siddhis of the Tretâyuga disappear They beget greed, fortitude trade and warlike tendencies, that are antagonistic to each other They become doubtful of the true realities of things—1 3
