pṛṣṭastu manunā devo matsyarūpī janārdanaḥ
kathaṃ śaravaṇe jāto devaḥ ṣaḍvadano vibho //
Sûta said—Manu, the son of Sun first asked the God Matsya about the birth of Swamikârtika in the thicket of white grass or reeds.—3-4
