Pitṛis, when they are pleased, give robust health, heaven, and children to their devotees. The worship of Pitṛis is more important than that of the Gods. The Pitṛis should be satisfied first. They are soon pleased and are devoid of anger. They are harmless and of steady affection. They are of peaceful soul, lovers of purity, always soft speaking, and givers of happiness and prosperity to their devotees. The Sun is their Lord. I have narrated to you the family of Pitṛis by listening to which one gains life and virtue; therefore everyone should read and listen to it.—40-43.
