cichedātha dhanurviṣṇor nimirbhallena dānavaḥ
saṃdhyamānaṃ śaraṃ haste cicheda mahiṣāsuraḥ //

Seeing the valour of the Lord, the Dânavas began to yell and fight with caution. They were all blind with rage. At that time, the Dânava Nimi cut off the bow of Viṣṇu with his spear and Mahiṣâsura cut the arrow that was on the string.—14-15
