*devyuvāca
mātaraṃ mā parityajya yasmāttvaṃ snehaviklavām
vihitāvasaraḥ strīṇāṃ śaṃkarasya rahovidhau //
Pârvatî said—“O Virabhadra! as you did not care for me and showed less affection and regard for me and as you allowed a woman to appear in private before Śiva, I curse you for this offence so that your mother shall be a salty piece of stone without any heart, inanimate, rough, and rugged”—1-2
