syāmahaṃ kāñcanākārā vāllabhyena ca saṃyutā
bharturbhūtapateraṅgam ekato nirviśe 'ṅgavat //

Pârvatî said—“I had attained Śiva after a course of hard penances and He addressed me as dark complexioned, so now I wish that My complexion may become like that of gold in order that I may adorn Myself in the arms of the Lord”—10-11
