tataścikṣepa daityendro bhindipālamayomayam
kareṇa tacca jagrāha kārtikeyo 'marārihā //

Afterwards, the demon adjusting a ball of iron to his javelin flung it at Svâmikârtika which He caught by His hand and hit Târakâsura with His awful club by the blow of which the demon began to shiver and he said to himself that the Kumâra was unconquerable and that his end was come At that time Kâlanemi and other demons seeing the rage of Svamıkârtika began to shower their weapons on Him—10-13
