tataḥ svadhāvācanakaṃ viśvadeveṣu codakam //
There should be no niggardliness in the giving of Dakṣiṇâ, and to please the Pitṛis the worshipper should ask the Brâhmaṇas to do Swadhâ-Vâchana. Water should be put in the hands of the Brâhmaṇas after viśvadeva ceremony and the worshipper should receive the blessings of the Brâhmaṇas by facing himself towards the East. He should first say "*Aghôrâḥ Pitaraḥ Santu*," ("let the pitris be auspicious"), in reply to which the Brâhmaṇas should say "*Santu*" "(let it be so)".—52-53.
