The host should again say, "*Gôtram tathâ Vardhatâmnaḥ*," to which the Brâhmaṇas should reply, "*Vardhatâm* (let similarly our clan be increased)", the worshipper should say, "*Dâtârônôbhivardhantâm* (let the giver of presents increase in our family," the Brâhmaṇas should say, "Vardhantâm (may they increase)" the worshipper "Etâhsatyâśiṣaḥ santu (let these blessings be true)," the Brâhmaṇas "Santu (may it be so)." After finishing svadhâvâchana like this, the worshipper should perform "uchchhaiṣaṇa" at the time of dismissing his invited guests, and, after, that he should perform "graha bali."—54-55.
"Uchchheṣaṇa" is to leave some food scattered on the floor, for the acceptance of the attendants of the Pitṛis known as Âstika and Akutila. The Pitṛis themselves started this rite for the satisfaction of their attendants which should be performed by all—those who have children and those who are childless.—56-58.
