varaṃ vai prathamaṃ devaṃ dvitīyaṃ dhruvamavyayam
viśvāvasuṃ tṛtīyaṃ ca caturthaṃ somamīśvaram //

Bhava, Prabhava, Iśâ, Asurahantâ, Aruna, Aruṇi, Viśvâvasu, Bāla, Dhruva Haviṣya, Vītana Vidhâna Samiti, Vatsara, Bhūtī, and Suparvâ were all born of Sâdhya through Dharma, and, similarly, the Devi Sudevî gave birth to the eight Vasus, viz—Dhara, Dhruva, Viśvâvasu, Soma, Âpa, Yama Vâyu, and Nirṛiti It is also heard that dharma begot from Viśvâ the Viśvedevas—43 48
