182.1

vāraṇasīmāhātmyam.
sūta uvāca.
kailāsapṛṣṭhamāsīnaṃ skandaṃ brahma vidāmvaram.
pṛcchanti ṛṣayaḥ sarve sanakādyā stapodhanā .. 182.1 ..

Sûta said:—Once on a time, the Ṛiṣis Sanaka, Sanandana, &c., and the devotees of Śiva asked Svâmi Kârtika, the chief of the knowers of Brahma, on the summit of Kailâśa:—"Brâhmaṇa! Pray explain to us about the abode of Śiva in the earth where Bhagavân Śiva always dwells?"—1-2

Sûta said:—Once on a time, the Ṛiṣis Sanaka Sanandana, &c. and the devotees of Śiva asked Svâmî Kârtika the chief of the knowers of Brahma, on the summit of Kailâśa—"Brâhmaṇa! Pray explain to us about the abode of Śiva in the earth where Bhagavân Śiva always dwells"—1 2
