kimatra sumahat puṇyaṃ paraṃ guhyaṃ vadasva me.
yena tvaṃ ramase nityaṃ bhūtasampad guṇairyutaḥ .. 183.4 ..

Śrî Pārvatî said—Mahâdeva! What is the cause of your giving preference to Avimukta tîrtha over the mounts Himavân Mandarâchala, Gandhamâdana, Kailâsa, Niṣadha, Sumeru, Triśikhira, Mānasa, the Nandanavana of the Devas, as well as other sacred places? What invisible high sanctity attaches to it, that you in company of your attendants, remain there? What favours do you show to the people residing there? Pray explain all that to Me—1 5
