*ṛṣaya ūcuḥ
somaḥ pitṝṇāmadhipaḥ kathaṃ śāstraviśārada
tadvaṃśyā ye ca rājāno babhūvuḥ kīrtivardhanāḥ //
The Ṛiṣis said:—How did the moon O! scholar of all the Śâstras, become the sovereign of the Pitṛis and how did the Râjâs of the lunar dynasty become so illustrious?—1.
