*devayānyuvāca
dāsīṃ kanyāsahasreṇa śarmiṣṭhāmabhikāmaye
anuyāsyati māṃ tatra yatra dāsyati me pitā //
Devayânî said:—“When you promise to fulfil my desires, I wish Śarmiṣṭhâ to be my maid, with a thousand damsels; and she should go with me wherever my father may please to marry me.”—17.
