32.32

*yayātiruvāca
ṛtuṃ yo yācyamānāyā na dadāti pumānvṛtaḥ
bhrūṇahetyucyate brahman sa ceha brahmavādibhiḥ //

Yayâti said :—“O Brâhmaṇ! One who does not satisfy the desire of a damsel, after the termination of her mensturation, commits the sin of slaying a Brâhmaṇa; and one who does not grant the desire of a damsel, even on her making such a request, he is said to commit a sin equal to the sin of slaughtering a great Brâhmaṇa. O Preceptor! for fear of such sins, I tremblingly offered myself to Śarmiṣṭhâ.”—32-34.
