*devayānyuvāca
padyetadevaṃ śarmiṣṭhe na manyurvidyate mama
apatyaṃ yadi te labdhaṃ jyeṣṭhācchreṣṭhācca vai dvijāt //

Devayânî said:—"Śarmiṣṭhâ! If this is true, I am no more angry with you, but how can it be made certain that you have got this progeny from a high class Brâhmaṇa? I wish to know his clan and lineage."—5-6.
