sarvametad aśeṣeṇa śrotumicchāmi tattvataḥ
kathyamānaṃ tvayā vipra devarṣigaṇasaṃnidhau //
Śatânika.—“Sage! tell us in detail how Yayâti was hurled down to the earth and how he again went to heaven. King Yayâti was powerful like Indra, radiant like the Sun, and was the promoter of the Kuru clan. O Sage! I am eager to hear the story of his celestial and mundane glory.”—6-9.
