katarastvetayoḥ pūrvaṃ devānāmeti sātmyatām
ubhayordhāvato rājan sūryacandramasoriva //
Aṣṭaka.—“King! Who between the two (orders), viz, the Sanyâsi or the Vânaprastha attains to the region of the Devas first? Both of them are striving after Devahood in the heavenly path like the sun and the moon.”—1.
