Navaratha begot Dṛiḍharatha, the father of Śakuni, who begot Karambha, the father of Devarâta. Devarâta was the father of the very famous Devakṣatra, the father of Madhu, the rejoicer of Devanakshatra and born as if a Deva. He was father of Puravasas, who begot Purudvân, of Vidarbha clan, the father of Jantu from his wife Bhadrasenî, daughter of Vidharva clan. Jantu bore from his wife, the lady of the Ikṣvâku clan, Sâtvata who diffused the name and fame of the Sâtvatas (Yâdavas) through his sattvaguṇa. One who hears the narration of the lunar race of Jyâmagha is blessed with children.—42-46. The lady, named Kauśilya, begot the progeny known by the epithet of Sâtvata, the righteous. The Sâtvata kings were Bhajin, Bhajamâna, Devâvṛidha, Andhaka, Mahâbhoja, Vriṣṇî and Yadunandana, under four different sub-divisions, which is going to be narrated in detail.—47-48.
