kartuṃ dharmavyavasthānam asurāṇāṃ praṇāśanam
buddho navamako jajñe tapasā puṣkarekṣaṇaḥ
devasundararūpeṇa dvaipāyanapuraḥsaraḥ //

For the establishment of righteousness and the destruction of Asuras, through asceticism, there was the 9th incarnation, in the form of Buddha of Divine splendour, with His Eyes as beautiful as lotus, and with the sage Dvaipâyana Vyâsa as the officiating priest.—247.
