viṣṇusteṣāṃ praṇetā ca prabhutve ca vyavasthitaḥ
nideśasthāyinastasya kathyante sarvayādavāḥ //

The Yâdâvas, among whom Lord Kṛiṣṇa was born, had one hundred different families, all of which were supported by Viṣṇu; and it was for that reason that the Yâdava clan went on prospering. All the Yâdavas were the companions of Lord Kṛiṣṇa.—28-29.
