tato 'nusṛṣṭo devena kuṇḍadhāro 'sya dhūmakṛt
tadā tasmingate śukre hy asurāṇāṃ hitāya vai
mantrārthaṃ tatra vasati brahmacaryaṃ maheśvare //
Afterwards, the sage, to acquire the spells for the well-being of the Asuras, went to practise asceticism by the side of the altar from which smoke emitted fire.—84.
